Leaders in Community (LiC) Consultancy was created by its founder Raju Noor for the purpose of providing organisations with an unrivalled young consultancy service. LiC Consultancy provides organisations with active help and advice about engaging with young people and getting young people involved in their activities. Our organisation is entirely run by young people and hence we are in the best position to give advice about young people.
Through the voluntary work of LiC’s sister organisation LiC Projects, Raju identified that there was no group or organisation that existed within London that specialised in providing organisations with a collective of young people’s active input that is easily accessible by these organisations e.g. LiC Projects was brought in twice for consultation with London Borough of Tower Hamlets to discuss the future of Poplar Boys and Girls Club.
LiC also identified that there was a lack of provision of youth empowerment service. In addition, there is a lack of provision of Peer-to-Peer training programmes as this is something innovative and rare. Furthermore, it was also identified that some organisations involved young people on a tokenistic level, which resulted with young people not wanting to be involved in governance.
Finally some youth organisations are only focused on meeting the needs of the young people and usually disregard the needs of the organisations.
Our services help you save Time, Money and Effort
LiC Consultancy was set up to fill this gap within the market. We aim to meet the needs of the organisation as well as the needs of the young people. We offer value for money service as our young consultants are diverse and come from a variety of educational backgrounds all with various personal life experiences.
The young consultants are paid for their time by our customers as this insures that the young person who is providing the service from being used on a tokenistic level.
We also offer peer-training workshops which aims to empower young people and reduce unemployment amongst young people.
Our young people can train other young people in areas of employability and organisations on youth engagement. LiC Consultancy can also be contracted out for outreach work as we can supply organisations with confident and reliable young people.
We aim to meet your needs as well as the needs of young people
There is a definite need for our type of services, as our organisation has held consultation with senior members from numerous public sector organistion’s e.g. CEO of TSA all of which have stressed on the importance of youth empowerment.
There is a need for the above services because some public sector organisations have youth provision services, whereas others do not and every area in London have young unemployed people, hence lies the opportunity for LiC Consultancy to get involved as we will save our customers time, money and effort. Organisations, communities and young people can all benefit from improved services and increased cohesion to name a few.
This will be achieved by empowering young people to gain valuable skills and knowledge that are transferable into employment. Hence, to put what they learnt into use they will be given work experience, which will enhance their employment opportunities and hopefully reduce the local unemployment levels.
