National statistics

The total volume of young people participating in LSC-funded Further Education (but excluding school sixth forms) is 1,026,500. This is an increase of 2.3 per cent on 2006/07.

The Mayor of London and the Government are working together to deliver a £79m ‘London Youth Offer’. The package will run over two years from 2008 to 2010 and is aimed at increasing services for young people and giving them new opportunities to gain new skills and raise their aspirations.
